Marion County ARES is currently activated at Level 3. We are monitoring the incident for requests from our partner and served agencies.
By order of the Florida State Wireless Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC) and the Florida Department of Emergency Management, SARNet is in a restricted net mode. This means that only County Emergency Operations Centers as well as Federal and State partners may use the net. If you have a serious emergency and are unable to reach anyone by any other means, you may break the net. Otherwise, communications on SARNet are RESTRICTED.
Marion County ARES will maintain a net on the K4GSO repeater (146.6100, + PL 123) upon manning of the Marion County EOC. Resources may check in via this net, inquire about operations, or make reports deemed necessary to the MCSO Division of Emergency Management,
Marion County SKYWARN members may also use this net to report significant weather events to be transmitted to the NWS office in Jacksonville, FL.
The Florida Statewide HF ARES Emergency Net will begin at 9P ET this evening. For full information please visit floridaemergency.net (including the IAP and ICS-205)
