An exercise for Marion County EmComm Operators and our Community

As dawn breaks over Central Florida, the atmosphere is charged with the tension of an impending crisis. The Category 5 hurricane, having wreaked havoc across the southern regions, is now driving a wave of evacuees northward. The early morning sees traffic snarled on the I-4 and I-75 corridors, with evacuees evacuating in droves, aiming to reach the relative safety of more centralized areas. Marion County, a focal point for numerous support operations, faces immediate tests. The impending hurricane brings with it not just the threat of physical force, but disruptions that ripple through communications and infrastructure.

Our mission:
To rapidly deploy communicators to safe-area shelters to handle evacuees.
To rapidly deploy communicators to safe-area hospitals to provide comms.
To rapidly deploy communicators to special points of distribution to assist evacuees who are receiving goods and services.

We will be simulating an EOC environment for this exercise.
